As much as I love the motorcycle community, one of the things I can't stand is the old school mentality of "Only men should ride bikes". As I am doing my best to keep this site PG-13, I will just say this:
F&@k that s#!t.
A motorcycle does not care what sex you are. A motorcycle does not care where you are from. A motorcycle does not care how old you are. Motorcycles only want to be ridden and enjoyed. I have taught more and more women to ride over the years so that EVERYONE has an opportunity to experience the freeing feeling that only comes with riding a motorcycle. This feeling of freedom, the pure joy of riding, and truly experiencing the two wheeled therapy, can be felt by anyone, of any sex, of any age. When we were kids growing up riding around the neighborhoods on our bicycles, not one kid ever said "You're a girl, you shouldn't ride a bike", so why do some people think that mentality is ok as an adult? My answer to that question is the same statement as above.
Anyone can ride. No matter what your background is. If you have EVER been in a vehicle, been home and looking outside, or walking down the street and saw a motorcycle pass and had that one thought of "I wonder what it's like to ride one of those"... This should be taken as a sign to try it out. Just like any hobby or sport, motrcycles are not for everyone. Some people are better off getting a convertable to feel the wind in their hair, however, anyone can learn and try it out.
I have also been witness to husbands trying to teach their wives how to ride, and many of the women don't continue to learn, because, well... Most times it is easier to teach someone or to learn from someone that you are not married to. That's where I come in. And to be perfectly honest, I taught my wife to ride BEFORE we were married.
The motorcycle community is for EVERYONE.
